Jr. High School Building
Dr. Kenneth Estes will be presenting updates on Alvarado ISD and a tour of the new Jr. High School Building.
Dr. Kenneth Estes graduated from Tarleton State University in Stephenville, Texas with his Bachelor’s Degree in 1993, Master’s Degree in 1999, and an Educational Doctorate in 2009. Dr. Estes taught and coached for one year at Grand Saline ISD and he has been a part of the Alvarado ISD team since the fall of 1994. Dr. Estes has taught, coached, served as High School Principal, Assistant Superintendent of Administrative Services and now serves as Superintendent of Schools. He is a member of the Alvarado Chamber of Commerce, President of the Lion’s Club, on the board of directors of Alvarado Santa’s Helpers as well as a member and Deacon of the First Baptist Church of Alvarado. He has two children. Ashlee is a senior at Tarleton State University and will graduate in 2016 prepared to serve as an elementary teacher. Ashlee was a 2013 Alvarado High School Honor Graduate. She is currently a student senator for the Tarleton Student Government, President of the Tarleton Professional Educator's Association, a Texan Rep and a member of Sigma Alpha Pi. His son, Aaron, will be a freshman at Tarleton State University and was accepted into the Tarleton Presidential's Honor's Program. Dr. Estes has been married to Dr. Laura Estes for 22 years. Dr. Laura Estes is an assistant professor and TMATE Director (Tarleton’s accelerated teacher education program). Laura served as a teacher, principal and director in Alvarado for 19 years prior to taking the position with TSU. As a family, we “Bleed Purple” and we love our Alvarado Indians!
